  • Amer Fort or Amber Fort is a fort located in Amer in the state of Rajasthan. Inducted into the UNESCO World Heritage Site list as part of the “Hill Forts of Rajasthan” along with five other forts. Further, the town of Amer and the Amber Fort was built by Raja Alan Singh Meena 967 AC, later ruled by Kachawaha Rajputs. One of the most iconic forts in Jaipur, Amber Fort steeped in history and remains a glorious example of architectural brilliance. And with its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace. Moreover, the Mughal architecture greatly influenced the architectural style of several buildings of the fort. Thus, it is counted as the best among the Rajasthan Tourism Places.

2. Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur

  • Mehrangarh Fort is located in Jodhpur in the state of Rajasthan. Covers an area of 1,200 acres. Mehrangarh Fort holds the pride of place in Jodhpur because of its splendid architecture. And the diverse history associated with it. Constructed in the year 1459 by Rajput ruler Rao Jodha. And also built in honor of the victory over the Bikaner and Jaipur armies. Moreover, inside its boundaries, there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings, expansive courtyards and also a museum housing various relics. There are seven gates, which can be used to enter the Mehrangarh fort. Furthermore, these 7 gates are made by different rulers.   • Jaisalmer Fort is located in the city of Jaisalmer in the state of Rajasthan. And also it is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan.  Further, built-in 1156 AD by the Rajput Rawal (ruler) Jaisal from whom it derives its name, and stood at the crossroads of important trade routes. Moreover, Jaisalmer Fort, along with 5 other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan in the year 2013. The highly impressive architecture of the fort simply represents the great Indian artwork and military glory. The fort’s massive yellow sandstone walls appears as tawny lion in color during the day and fading to honey-gold color as the sunsets. For this reason, it is also known as the Sonar Quila or Golden Fort. Therefore, Jaisalmer is a major tourist spot located in the northwestern state of Rajasthan. 4. Kumbhalgarh Fort, Udaipur

  • Kumbhalgarh Fort is located in Rajsamand district near Udaipur of Rajasthan state. It is a Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills. And also, Kumbhalgarh Fort is a World Heritage Site included in Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Built by Rana Kumbha during the 15th century. However, the most important fort in Mewar after Chittorgarh Fort. Further, the fort is one of the largest fort complexes in the world and the second-largest fort in India after Chittor Fort. Therefore, the Kumbhalgarh is a must-visit destination in Rajasthan.

5. Chittorgarh Fort, Chittorgarh

  • The Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh is located in Chittorgarh in the state of Rajasthan. The fort was the capital of Mewar. Moreover, it is one of the largest forts in India. Also, Chittor Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort spreading over an area of around 700 acres. And it covers 65 historic structures, which include four palaces, 19 large temples, 20 large water bodies, 4 memorials, and a few victory towers. Further, the most famous attraction in Chittorgarh fort is the Padmini Palace, named after Queen Padmini herself. In 2013, Chittorgarh Fort, along with four other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as a group called the Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Thus, it is one of the popular places to visit in Rajasthan.
